Termez the Khakim Termezi complex located in the old Termez town was built during the llth-15th centuries and took it's beginnings from the mausoleum of a famous theologian of the 9th century, Khakim Termezi. The mausoleum walls, arches and domes are covered with elaborate filigree fretwork with a plant motif. Not far from the mausoleum a funeral mosque is located. A Khanaka monument stands in the north-eastern section of the complex. The splendid Khakim Termezi mausoleum made of white carved marble - the so- called Sagana - is one of the main masterpieces of the Temurid stonecarving and ornamental art period. The Sultan-Saodat complex contains a group of 19 family burial vaults and cult buildings that were erected at different times.
